Division of Physician Assistant
Kelly is the Administrative Manager for the Divisions of Family Medicine and Physician Assistant Studies. She is responsible for assisting with business operations in the Family Medicine and Physician Assistant Studies programs including faculty and staff onboarding, accounting, and human resource management.
Kelly has 20 years of experience working at the University of Utah. She likes to travel and spend time with her grandchildren. She also likes to attend the Utah Football games…Go Utes!
Division of Public Health
Tatiana Allen-Webb, BS, CCRP, is the Programs Manager for the Utah Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) program. She coordinates the design, development, and delivery of statewide initiatives, including program assessment and improvement, and oversees the AHEC Scholars. Additionally, Tatiana manages the Community Health Worker Team embedded into the School of Medicine curriculum. Tatiana has 23 years of experience at the University of Utah.

Maria is a research assistant in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine, where she works with the Utah Center for Promotion of Work Equity Research (U-POWER) on research and course development. She is completing her PhD in English at the University of Utah.

Amy is the Associate Director of Clinical Education for the Divisions of Family Medicine and Physician Assistant Studies. She is responsible for the administration and management of Family Medicine and Physician Assistant Studies programs including oversight of clinical operations, clinical training programs, budget and finance, strategy and development, and human resource management. She received her MBA from the University of Utah and has many years of experience in healthcare administration with operations, management, program development, compliance, contracting, and revenue integrity. Amy is originally from Colorado, and in her spare time she enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time outdoors hiking, biking, and snowshoeing with her family.

Brenden is the Program Manager for the PA Division. He is responsible for maintaining clinical site and preceptor contracts for clinical student rotations. Brenden holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Utah and a Masters in Criminal Justice from Weber State University. When not working, Brenden is an avid Freestyle BMX rider and competes nationally in contests during the summer and Snowboards in the winter.

Sara Atcheson, MS, RD, recently joined the Department of Family and Preventative Medicine as a clinical research dietitian working on the Malnutrition Health Equity Among Community Dwelling Older Adults project. Sara’s previous experience was working with End Stage Renal Disease patients on dialysis. She has been in Utah for just over 3 years and loves playing in the mountains with her border-collie mix, Poppy. She is very excited to be a part of the DFPM team and to help improve quality of life for older adults.

Marianne works directly with the Division of Family Medicine residents. She is responsible for coordinating the resident’s schedules throughout all their required residency rotations. She assists and supports all faculty and staff with any scheduling needs and day to day tasks. Marianne comes to us from the clinical side, working as a Dialysis Technician for the past 8 years. She loves to read, bake and enjoys the chaos of her family life, including her husband, 6 children and their spouses, 2 border collies, an African Grey Parrot, a Bearded Dragon and 2 cats.

Paige is an administrative assistant. She provides general administrative support for the Central Administration office. Paige graduated from Weber State University in 2022 with a specialization in Microbiology and is currently studying Cosmetology at Avalon Institute. Paige enjoys listening to podcasts, cheering on the Buffalo Bills, and spending time with her best friend, her cat Rigby.

Justine is an Administrative Assistant for the Division of Public Health. She provides administrative support to the Division Chief and faculty and staff as needed. Her responsibilities include managing calendars, accounts payable, supply orders, minutes, and assisting with travel and events such as student graduation. Justine is from St. Anthony, Idaho and earned her Bachelor of Science in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations from Brigham Young University-Idaho. Justine enjoys traveling, playing board games, and exploring the great outdoors.

Rachel is the Project Coordinator for the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health. Her responsibilities include coordinating training activities, monitors expenditures, assisting in the preparation of grant proposal, research materials, and outreach projects and publications, coordinate seminars, workshops, and other project meetings. Rachel has a M.S. in Environmental Policy and Natural Resource Management with 10+ years of experience in the environmental field.

Kari is the Clinical Coordinator for the Clinical Team at the St. George Campus. She is primarily responsible for collection and maintenance of student credentialing documents, tracking preceptor licensing, as well as working with faculty and staff to ensure student clinical rotation needs are met promptly. With a background including roles in education, non-profit organization, and running a business, Kari brings a wide variety of skills to her role. When she isn’t working, she can be found wrangling her 4 sons, spending time with her husband, or baking.

Ashly grew up in the “bustling metropolis” of Ely, NV and is no stranger to rural community life. While attending Brigham Young University she received her BS degree in Athletic Training and fought wildfires in the summer to best minimize her education costs. As an Administrative Manager in the DFPM, her responsibilities include supporting the OEH and PH divisions with their financial and administrative needs. She has a healthy dose of curiosity for most things and enjoys skiing, hiking, travelling, cooking and having adventures with her husband and son.

Holly is the chief of staff for the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. Holly directs the management and staff support of the department’s programs and operations across all missions. Holly joined University Health Care in 2005, where she has worked in project management, decision support, hospital finance, and research administration. Holly earned her MBA at the University of Utah. Before her employment with the University, she worked at Select Health for 10 years.

Leslie is the Academic Program Manager for the UPAP didactic team at the Salt Lake City campus. Leslie works closely with UPAP faculty, staff, and instructors to address Salt Lake City student needs during their didactic year. Leslie graduated from the U with a B.A. in Anthropology Health Emphasis and a minor in Human Biology in 2015, and a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership & Policy in 2019. She has worked at the U in various roles as a Student Success Advocate, Undergraduate Research Advisor, Graduate Assistant in Housing & Residential Education, and College Access Advisor. Thus, Leslie has experienced working with students from diverse backgrounds and different stages in their educational journey. These experiences together with her research, community engagement, and leadership involvement have helped her shaped her student-centered approach to her work in higher education: she focuses on being culturally responsive to the stories and strengths that each student brings to the U.

Jacklyn Chiu is a Graduate Student Coordinator II for students in the MPH-UAC, MSPH, MSTAT programs through the division of Public Health programs that are offered through the Department of Family and Preventative Medicine. Jacklyn will be coordinating different aspects with the education programs that include recruiting, admissions, advising, and graduation. Jacklyn has earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Utah.

Jesse serves as the Executive Assistant to DFPM Chair Dr. Kolawole Okuyemi. Demonstrating a career-spanning preference for working in the nonprofit sector, Jesse has worked in the senior services industry and academic and cancer research settings. He possesses extensive administrative experience emphasizing dynamic problem solving supported by a robust critical thinking and communication skill set. Born in Maryland and a longtime California resident, Jesse moved to Utah two years ago. Jesse graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a BA in English (Comparative Literature). His interests range from reading, writing, and playing tabletop roleplaying games and chess to running, strength training, and other outdoor activities.

Ashley manages the daily aspects of the Medical Student Education Program, including the 3rd year clerkship, 4th year Sub-Internship and other 4th year electives. She helps to obtain and manage all adjunct faculty appointments for preceptors as well as affiliation agreements with clinical sites. In addition, she oversees the Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG). She also serves as a coordinator for the Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship. Ashley has a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Utah and has been working in healthcare for the past 17 years.

Skyler is a health equity epidemiologist for the Division of Public Health. He provides data and evaluation technical assistance to Utah’s local health departments and the Department of Health and Human Services in addition to supporting health equity research at the Division of Public Health. He has a B.S. in Nutritional Science from Brigham Young University and an MPH and graduate certificate in Emergency Health from the University of Utah. Skyler has served on the board of the Utah Public Health Association since 2020 and is an LGBTQ+ subject matter expert for the Rocky Mountain Public Health Training Center. He is an avid gardener and an amateur botanist, and he is an advocate for xeriscaping and incorporating native Utah plants into landscapes.

Andrew Curtin, MSTAT Candidate, is Biostatistician I and key member for the DFPM Biostatistical Support Core and Family Medicine Research Core. He is graduating from the University of Utah's MSTAT program Summer 2022, and currently has a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Utah. He has previously worked for Utah Education Network and Myriad Genetics. Andrew enjoys spending time with his son kayaking and exploring Timpanogos canyon, and caring for his pet dog and chickens.

Doris develops and implements the process for student selection to the Physician Assistant Program from the application level, candidate interviewing and admission offers, and facilitating transition of the incoming class. She is a University of Utah alumna and has served multiple roles in national service to the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) with CASPA Advisory and Enhancement, Recruitment and Admissions Council, and the Diversity Inclusion Mission Advancement Commission. She received the PAEA Staff Award in 2017. In addition, she serves the Department Education Mission by facilitating collaboration between its four Divisions, for which a highlight is the annual Education, Research, and Community Engagement Summit, a research poster event. In her spare time, Doris enjoys, cooking, film, hiking with her dog, and travel adventures with her spouse.

Courtney is an Associate Director of Graduate Education for the Division of Public Health and Occupational Environmental Health. She is responsible for the administration and management of all Public Health and Occupational Environmental Health program operations including education, budgeting, financial operations, development, communication, and human resources. Courtney earned her MBA from Concordia University Chicago. She has several years of experience in management, leadership, administrative duties, academic advising, public relations and event coordinating.

Angelica earned her bachelor's degree in Integrative Public Relations from Central Michigan University. She moved to Utah two years ago and likes to hike and snowboard. Angelica also likes to read and spend time with her cats: Olive and Penelope.

Julie has worn several hats during her 30+ years with the department. She currently maintains all department and division webpages. Julie has received a Web Design Certificate, Web Development Certificate, and Web Design Tools Certificate from Continuing Education at the University of Utah.

Tanis has been with the U since 2013 and has been working in research accounting since 2015; she started in the Engineering Department prior to coming to DFPM. She has been with DFPM since November 2020. Her responsibilities are ensuring post-award processes and procedures are being done correctly within DFPM, she is responsible for post-award support to PI's and divisions, working with pre-award as assigned, and other financial responsibility.

Abby is a Recruiter and Coordinator through the division of Public Health. Her responsibilities include coordinating different aspects of the program which includes recruiting, personal outreach, marketing strategies, and public relations. Abby is from University Place, Washington and earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Communications from Utah Valley University. Abby enjoys running, playing board games, and reading self-improvement books.

Maisa is the Administrative Manager for the Utah Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Program. She is an administrative leader with more than twenty years of experience in implementation and management of health organizations, social programs and private companies. She has successfully managed private business, and effectively worked in socially driven organizations and in academic institutions. Maisa is passionate about creating equitable opportunities for disadvantage individuals in education and health.

I graduated from The University of Texas – Arlington with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Economics and Finance in 2020. I had the opportunity to move to Ogden, Utah in January 2021 to work at Weber State University as a College Access Advisor supporting underprivileged Jr. High students with key steps in the postsecondary application and financial aid process. Upon moving to Salt Lake City, I worked at a small private equity administration firm as a Treasury Analyst preparing high-value wire transfers and establishing a knowledge base to document department functions and best practices for client-facing teams.
I’m excited to work as part of the DFPM finance team to jointly establish a Payroll Office with standardized processes and procedures that will support faculty, staff and programs across the department. In addition, continue to build on a foundation that tracks, monitors, and reports on DFPM’s personnel expenses throughout all 4 divisions.

Rob is an experienced Finance and Budget Director with a demonstrated history of working in healthcare and higher education. He has worked in the School of Medicine at the University of Utah since 2014 and earned a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Utah. Rob brings a strong service mindset as he works to accomplish department goals and objectives, and has demonstrated excellence in management, financial planning & analysis, reporting, budgeting and process improvement. Rob’s primary roles include oversight of the financial health of the department, department funds flow, facilitating financial strategy, and compensation plans.

Tayler is an academic program coordinator who works directly within the Family Medicine Residency. She oversees WATS, Survival Skills, Grand Rounds, Journal Club, Patient Safety Conference, and planning and organizing resident retreats and workshops. Tayler has a bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies and a master’s in Psychology. While she was raised mainly in Wisconsin, she has lived in nine states throughout her life. Tayler enjoys teaching spin classes, running, thrifting, and trying out new coffee shops and restaurants.

Melissa is the Division Manager for the Division of Physician Assistant Studies. She manages PA staff and is responsible for budgeting and financial operations within the Division. In addition, she also works with the leadership team on projects related to ARC-PA accreditation and as well as support for grant financial administration. Melissa has a BS in Environmental Studies and over 10 years of experience in higher education.

Mandy is the Program Manager and Clinical Coordinator for the Clinical Team at the Salt Lake Campus. She is primarily responsible for Recruitment and Retention for Clinical sites & Preceptors. She maintains Affiliation Agreements, is responsible for the day to day management of the clinical rotation schedule, and oversees student scholarships. Mandy loves to write YA Speculative Fiction and is slowly working on an English MFA in Creative Writing. She also enjoys playing the piano, singing, playing the flute, hiking and biking with her family, and travelling the world. Mandy is from Tucson, Arizona. She graduated with a BA in Psychology from the University of Arizona and even though she loves the mountains and the change of seasons in Utah, an Arizona sunset will always take her breath away.

As the graduate advisor for the PA program, Mayumi provides various resources to PA students and advises them on day-to-day activities. She also assists with the Master’s Projects and PA program admissions process. She has almost 15 years of advising experience at the University of Utah. She earned a Bachelor's degree in International Studies and a Master’s degree in Comparative Literary and Cultural Studies from the University of Utah.

Charan serves as a contact point for student participants during the summer experience and facilitates some professional development events. Charan has bachelor's in Microbiology and Masters in MBA. Currently, he is working on his second master's MSBA from U of U. In his spare time he likes hiking, watching movies, and doing number puzzles.

Andrew provides administrative support for the National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN) project at the University of Utah. His main responsibilities are leading NRMN project operations for team members, overseeing administration of grant activities to ensure achievement of quarterly goals, complying with institutional and funder policies, proper contract execution and preparation of annual progress reports. He also assists with managing the NRMN grant budgets, three subcontracts, and contracts.

Rosie is the Program Manager for Occupational and Environmental Health Division. Rosie joined the University in 2016 and is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing tasks for the Occupational Medicine Program pertaining to the administrative functions of Graduate Medical Education, Occupational Medicine (OM) residency program and Occupational Medicine Residency Clinics in the Division of Occupational Environmental Health. Rosie received the Hospital & Clinics District Staff Excellence Award in 2019.

Her responsibilities include payroll, managing the new hire process, with tracking hires, drafting offer letters, initiates background checks and I-9's, submitting additional compensations, invoicing, vacation and time-off accruals and manages Public Health's UMarket online payment account. She has several years experience in global health, management of learning abroad programs, budgets, marketing, event coordination, student advising and recruitment, project management, travel planning and logistics, and preparing/coordinating program support agreements and international wire transfers.

Sylvia Lyons is an Administrative Assistant for the Division of Public Health. She provides secretarial and administrative support to faculty and staff, including managing calendars and room scheduling, purchasing, reimbursement, supply orders, lists, minutes, time off tracking, and assisting with travel and event planning as needed. She earned her BA in General Professional Dance and has taught ballroom and coached formation teams periodically. She also home schooled her family for 12 years.

Prudi Marneedi, BDS, MPH, CPH is the Evaluation and Education Lead for the Utah AHEC program. He will be evaluating the AHEC programs and lead several educational activities administered by Utah AHEC. Prudvi is an alumni of University of Utah and is interested in public health research and community health. He envisions a just and equitable society.

Josué Martinez is a Graduate Academic Advisor to the students in the MPH, MSPH and Certificate Public Health programs offered through the Department of Family and Preventative Medicine. Josué coordinates all aspects of student education programs including recruiting, admissions, advising, and graduation. He earned his BA in Political Science with a Minor in Spanish from the University of Utah.

Heather works directly in the Family Medicine Residency. Her responsibilities include working with the Program Director to maintain residency accreditation through ACGME, organize the recruitment and orientation of incoming interns, and assisting the Program Director, Assistant Program Directors, and residents with day-to-day tasks. She also assists the Associate Director of Clinic Education and Operations with residency budget and allocations. Heather has earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Management, and is returning to school for her MBA and PMP. When not at work you can find Heather reading, singing, dancing, biking, or spending time with her family.

Dallas Nelson is an Education Manager for the Division of Public Health and Occupational Environmental Health. He coordinates all aspects of student education programs including recruiting, admissions, advising, and graduation. Dallas earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Utah and his Master of Public Administration from Southern Utah University. He has several years of experience in higher education, management, academic advising, and event coordinating.

Danny Nelson coordinates communications and provides design and writing support for the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine’s divisions. He also provides administrative support to the department’s many training and mentorship programs, and coordinates the U’s interaction with the National Research Mentoring Network. Danny has a master’s degree in English Literature from the University of Washington.

Rob is the evaluation specialist for the HRSA grant-funded project Maternal Health Capacity Building for the Medically Underserved in Rural and Urban Utah. He is responsible for developing and implementing the evaluation plan, including creating instruments and measures, collecting data, performing analyses, and publishing findings. He is also providing support for research projects with the Utah Department of Health and Human Services involving the Hypertension Disparities Dashboard. Rob has over 10 years’ experience in program evaluation, a PhD in Educational Psychology, and a Master’s degree in Human Development.

Brandyn is responsible for the strategic direction and management of the IVC teleconferencing equipment within the St. George campus classrooms. As a Tech graduate, accomplished Project Manager with Fortune 500 companies and business owner for over 16 years, His knowledge is shaping the "Student-centric" experience through the support of IT infrastructure and services while benefiting a connected learning space to all of the Students within the program. Additionally, Brandyn provides enterprise IT support and leadership for the continued development of an innovative, robust, and secure information technology environment throughout the University.

Nasim joined the Department of Family & Preventive Medicine (DFPM) Biostatistics Core at the University of Utah in February, 2020. Since then she has been working with various departments and faculty members to perform REDcap programming, data management, and statistical analysis for a number of research projects. Nasim holds two masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Statistics and Data Science from the University of Nevada, Reno. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, watching movies, running, and mostly spending time with her family and her dog.

Bethany is the Didactic Education Coordinator for the Division of Physician Assistant Studies. She works together with faculty & staff to ensure that PA students have access to the resources they need during their didactic year of the program. They have been part of the advising community at the U since 2016, working with undergraduate students in both the Academic Advising Center, and the College of Social & Behavioral Science, and joined DFPM in 2022. She was born and raised in Utah and earned both their A.S. degree at SLCC and B.S. degree at the U as a non-traditional transfer student. When they're not working, Bethany can be found road tripping with her wife, crafting, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and avoiding cooking.

I am originally from Roanoke Virginia and came here about 12 years to finish school. I ended up getting a bachelor’s in Behavior Science-Anthropology from UVU. I came to the U two and a half years ago and started working with the SVPHS Pre-award team as a grants and contracts officer. Before that, I worked for Vail Resorts and Park City Mountain Resort as a reservations assistant manager. I love spending time with my husband, camping, biking, and exploring new areas.

Jenna helps with project management for ACOEM as well as assists with managing the research team. She is now responsible for training research assistants, managing scheduling and tracking sheets, assisting with grants and manuscripts, performing exhaustive literature searches and summaries, and works on statistical analysis of research projects. Jenna graduated from the University of Utah in May 2017 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology.

Anne supports the Division with day to day financial operations. She oversees a research team of 7. Works with the CARO team to put together research budgets for Division grants. Oversees the day to day grant finances for the Division.

Becky is the administrative manager of clinical programs in the Division of Family Medicine. She oversees faculty clinic schedules, including attending, call and hospitalists. She manages the faculty productivity dashboards and clinical policy and procedure updates. She works closely with the divisions APC and OB teams. Becky joined the University of Utah in 1998 and has over 20 years experience in higher education. She received her Bachelor of Science in Family and Human Development from Utah State University.

John is responsible for assisting with the IVC classroom equipment at the Salt Lake City campus. John ensures that our classroom technology works well to keep our SLC and St. George students and instructors connected. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1995, and taught classes for seventeen years for the Dept. Parks, Recreation and Tourism. Besides working for the DFPM, he is also working on a series of guidebooks for the Wasatch Mountains area.

Maude's role in the Department of Family & Preventive Medicine (DFPM) focuses on managing various programs including REACH-U2, HSF, and DFPM Research Mentor Training. They also oversee pre-award grants and contracts for DFPM. In their free time Maude enjoys reading, running, and spending time with loved ones.

Cayla is an Academic Program Coordinator providing support for the Family Medicine Medical Student Education and clinical programs. She assists with third year placements and serves as a back up to the Medical Student Education manager while also coordinating the SOM's Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship. She helps with clinical programs such as SEE, Insomnia Management, Reach Out and Read, and shadowing. Cayla serves as the coordinator for faculty recruitment and onboarding and coordinates events for the residency program. Cayla is from Tampa, Florida and holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida.

Camie is Associate Director of the Utah Center for Promotion of Work Equity Research (U-POWER), a Center of Excellence in Total Worker Health supported by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). As Associate Director, Camie manages the daily operations of U-POWER, including communications, fiscal management, administration, and project management. She also manages the Research Pilot Project Program (RPPP) and supports U-POWER’s Outreach Core in community outreach, training, and social media. Camie also provides technical writing assistance to U-POWER investigators and other members of U-POWER’s community of practice. She holds a PhD in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Utah and draws on her expertise in storytelling to highlight the need for safe, healthy, and equitable work.

Chin-Yin is responsible for planning, organizing, directing all aspects pertaining to administrative functions for two research projects in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine: Utah Advanced Course on Mentoring, Leadership, and Research on Cancer-Related Health Disparities and HRSA-funded Maternal Health Capacity Building for the Medically Underserved in Rural and Urban Utah. Prior to joining the University of Utah, Chin-Yin worked at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, Center for Health Equity, to help improve access for individuals to receive care as well as working to reduce disparities in cancer screenings. Chin-Yin has years of experience working in the social services field and has a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the National Taipei University and a Master's degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University.

Glauco J. Souza, MD serves as a Graduate Research Assistant for the Utah Center for Promotion of Work Equity Research (U-POWER) assisting in the advancement of Total Worker Health. He is currently pursuing a degree in Public Health at University of Utah Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. Having previously worked as an Occupational Physician, Dr. Souza brings his clinical knowledge and past patient-employee experiences to U-POWER. He completed medical school at the Universidade Federal do Paraná in Brazil, where he was born and raised. As an MPH student and AHEC scholar he continues to pursue his interest in bringing health equity to underserved populations.
Administration
Melanie develops the department’s research infrastructure and directs central pre- and post-award operations. She works closely with the Vice Chair for Research and the Research and Innovation Committee to set strategic goals and success metrics for research activities. She joined the University of Utah in 2016 and has worked in project management and proposal development, most recently in the VPR’s research development office, and has significant experience with NIH and NSF. Melanie holds a PhD in German Studies from Cornell University and a certificate in Editing from the University of Chicago Graham School.
Division of Public Health
Chris Sparks is a Study Coordinator for the Division of Public Health. He assists in managing Clinical Research activities for Dr. Baron’s Behavioral Sleep Medicine lab including data collection, analysis, and participant recruitment. He also works PRN in the UMC’s ER as an EMT. He has a great interest in the intersection of behavioral and mental health and their impact on personal and community health at large. Chris earned his MPH with a Certificate in Global health and BS in Sociology from the University of Utah.
Division of Physician Assistant Studies
Andrea works in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine as a Research Analyst, where she analyzes data for ongoing research projects within the Division of Physician Assistant Studies. She received her bachelor’s in Cell and Developmental Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2017 and worked in research at the University of California, San Diego for several years before moving out to Salt Lake City. In her free time, Andrea enjoys trail running, skiing and spending time with her dog.

Quinn Tanner, MSPH is the Program Manager for the Utah Stimulating Access to Research in Residency (Utah StARR) program and for the Utah NASDC course on Cancer-Related Health Disparities Research, Mentoring, and Leadership. She earned her masters degree in Public Health and her undergraduate degree in Health and Society with a minor in Philosophy here at the University of Utah. In her free time, Quinn enjoys playing card games, listening to podcasts, exploring the great outdoors, and holding one-way conversations with her dogs Milly and Roux.

Division of Physician Assistant Studies
Eliza is dedicated to expanding the research footprint in the Family Medicine and Physician Assistant divisions. She supports faculty with IRB, REDCap, Qualtrics, manuscript writing, publications, and problem-solving specific to the scholarly needs of clinicians. Eliza supervises FM and PA research staff and is available for one-on-one research question consultations. Eliza received her MPH degree from the University of Utah and has a background in women and refugee health.

Kamaile Tripp-Harris is Health Equity Consultant for the Division of Public Health, aiding Health Equity Teams statewide in addressing health disparities in underrepresented and underserved communities. Kamaile is a certified Community Health Worker, facilitating Community Health Talks and Cultural Presentations for medical students. Kamaile earned an Associates degree in Accounting. She is a former Hawaiian Heritage Teacher at Pacific Heritage Academy in Rose Park, UT., has worked in Mental & Behavioral Healthcare for 18 years, and is producer and co-host of the Island Wave Podcast, whose mission is to collect Pacific Island Experiences of Utah and build a bridge to the broader community.

Erika is our Administrative Assistant working in the Family Medicine and Physician Assistant Divisions reporting to Kelly Aldridge. She is originally from Minnesota, and has also lived in California, Oregon, British Columbia, and Illinois. Erika graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison and pursued a career in business. She has a background in a variety of industries and roles such as Marketing and Market Research in Food Service, Financial Services, Mining, and a few others. Adding Academia and Health Services to her resume has provided the best in new challenges, friends and experiences. She is married, a mother of two daughters and grandmother of two lively grade schoolers. She enjoys books and book clubs, Netflix and its cousins, tennis, and loves to get together for laughs with her family and friends as often as possible.

Karen is the coordinator for the UPAP didactic team at the St. George campus. She has worked with the University of Utah for the past 18 years in the Containing Education and Community Enrichment (CECE) department and more specifically in the Professional Education department for the past 13 years managing the Corporate Employee Universities and Government (City Recorders and Treasurers) Academies. This opportunity has allowed her to make friends in almost every city in the state. Karen works closely with UPAP faculty, staff and instructors to address St. George student needs during their didactic year and clinical year.
