Public Health assistant professor Charles R. Rogers, PhD, MPH, MS, MCHES® was informed last week he had been selected as one of the National Minority Quality Forum's 40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Health. The award recognizes Dr. Rogers’ accomplishments in the healthcare field and his potential to continue positively impacting minority communities. Officials overseeing the prestigious, highly competitive list chose to highlight Dr. Rogers and his work out of hundreds of applications from health researchers and professionals across the country. Dr. Rogers' entrance into the 40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Health list will be recognized in the National Minority Quality Forum's Awards Gala in late April. In addition to being distinguished nationally by inclusion in the National Minority Quality Forum list, Dr. Rogers was also recently accepted to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Summer Institute on Randomized Behavioral Clinical Trials. The highly competitive Summer Institute provides an intermediate/advanced course in planning, designing, and conducting high-impact randomized controlled trials of health-related behavioral interventions. It also emphasizes programmatic research, while supporting Dr. Rogers’ long-term career goal of employing and evaluating culture-specific interventions to eliminate cancer disparities among African-American men and vulnerable populations.
