Melanie Murphy is an assistant professor with the Physician Assistant Program. She will be based in St. George and working with the clinical team. She practiced in pediatrics for nearly twenty years before joining the faculty. Her community work includes serving on the Utah Academy of Physician Assistants’ board, working with the Utah Foster Care System, community health centers and international medical service groups. Melanie has interests in the ethics and the business of health care. Before joining the faculty, Melanie received a BA. in humanities/philosophy from Brigham Young University. She studied physician assistant studies at Rochester Institute of Technology and earned an MBA in healthcare administration in 2018. Melanie enjoys camping, hiking and exploring the outdoors with her family.
