UPAP Students Play in Utah Medical Orchestra

The Utah Medical Orchestra is a volunteer ensemble for the University of Utah healthcare community. It invites faculty, staff, students and community members to participate in rehearsals and performances, helping advance interaction and cooperation between different departments and groups in the U Health system. And as of this year, the Utah Medical Orchestra has DFPM representation with the addition of Utah Physician Assistant Program students Hayde Blanco Guerra (viola) and Dayci Patterson (violin).

The student performers were spotted by UPAP assistant professor and alumna of the program Kelsey Genovesse, PA-C, who was there to support a pharmacy student in the Free PrEP clinic. Along with the group’s ability to build goodwill between different U Health groups, Professor Genovesse reports the Utah Medical Orchestra is also proficient in their music.

“They did an exceptional performance!” she says.
